We have all encountered the word “hyperactive.” It is a sort of buzzword or a moniker for a person who is always on the run or never seems to run out of energy.

However, when you consider hyperactivity as it relates to ADHD and ADD, then that would indicate that you are referring to some very specific behaviors. With someone who has ADHD or ADD, this might of restlessness and non-stopfidgeting. stay still and that they have to be moving a part of their bodyat all times. permitted to run around, which is of course normal. However, they would still unceasingly do this even when told not to and even when other children have already been seated quietly. Another sign is that of having trouble waiting in line or taking turns. However, not everyone who exhibits this type of behavior actually has ADHD. It could be something different altogether. ADHD is only diagnosed when someone exhibits a group of symptoms and is causing some problems with how the individual acts.

So what is the cause of ADHD/ADD? Parenting – good or bad – does not cause it. A relaxed home would help to stabilize children with ADHD, but family turmoil isn’t the problem. Research that was done concerning it has shown that it is actually linked to genetics. If one of the parents has or has had ADHD or ADD then their child has a 70% chance of acquiring the trait as well. Research also demonstrate that children who were diagnosed or display symptoms of having ADHD and ADD don’t have the right nutrients that are needed for proper brain performance. Because the body isn’t getting all the necessary nutrients, the brain fails to work correctly. It was seen that most of the children who have ADD or ADHD actually have low levels of amino acids and zinc in comparison to other children. These deficiencies in essential fatty acids are significant in diagnosing ADD and ADHD.

So what can you do to help remedy it? There has been disagreement about how effective ADD and ADHD medications are. Some recommend a more natural method. We have already mentioned of essential fatty acids in proper brain function and that children who exhibit symptoms of ADD and ADHD have lower levels when compared to other children. As such, a diet full of EFAs is important. The best sources of Omega Fatty 3 acids (EFA) include tuna fish, shrimp as well as salmon. Walnut oil and Olive oil are also great sources of EFAs.

First and foremost, however, you need to find out what might be causing ADHD/ADD in your child. Many professionals would prefer other alternative methods rather than relying upon medication. Through certain alternatives like a change in their diet, you can potentially figure out what causes it and hopefully avoid going down the medication path. Remember that those drugs will not cure ADHD and ADD, they will merely aid in lessening the symptoms.

    Be More Organized

One of the most tedious but most effective ways to improve memory skills is to get a handle on life. Whether it’s your mail that’s in shambles, your sock drawer a mess or your contacts all messed up, you can improve memory by remembering names, numbers, important dates – and of course where you left your keys if you are more organized.

Give everything a home. If you want to improve memory where it comes to your belongings, designate a place for everything. It may sound hard at first, but once you have a system in place, it becomes a way of life and you wonder who you ever lived without it. Make duplicate keys in times of emergency and for all other times, designate a key holder near your front door so you can grab –and put back- the keys in the right place every time. Once you are used to doing this, this will be one less area you have to improve memory.

If you need to improve memory to remember that name as far as paying bills and replying to correspondence is concerned, get a mailing sorting system so as soon as you bring in the mail, you can recycle, shred, file or ‘do’ as soon as possible. If you only have a few things in your ‘do’ or ‘action’ folder, you will not need to rely on improving your memory tactics to remember when the gas bill is due.

    Try Memory Games

Whether its picture puzzles in books or simple objects in a tray, you can improve memory by practicing remembering what you see. Take a tray and ask someone to put ten different things in it. Study it for 30 seconds and then write down what you saw. Practice until you get a 100 per cent score. If you neither have the time nor the patience for such games for remembering names, pick up a magazine and then after looking at a picture, try to remember all the details you saw. How many people were there in the picture? What kind of shoes was the woman wearing? Was the car blue or black?

    Memorize Things

If you are spiritually inclined, memorize favorite parts of your book of faith otherwise try more secular things like all the US states alphabetical, the wives of King Henry VIII, the films starring Al Pacino or any other thing which catches your fancy like lyrics to a song that you like. Anything that keeps your brain on memorizing mode can do wonders for improving memory

There are techniques in yoga and meditation that will help get rid of pain and we show you how here. What we need to assure you is that these are simple techniques which can be learned and practiced by anyone - they don’t take up too much time either. The world over, this practice is becoming more and more popular to handle problems arising out of stress and tension. Meditation is an introspective technique, using contemplation to help focus the mind on a precise thought or object.

    Religion News and Self Help

The path to meditation can be through music, through chants or even through silence. The focus could be on some object close by or you could focus on the breaths that you take as they go in and out of your body. No matter what approach you decide to use, you are going to need a really quiet environment and a certain period of time, in which you aren’t going to be interrupted. Identify your object of focus - it can be a mantra (word or phrase), your breathing cycle or a physical object and attain a comfortable posture (do not lie down as it would induce sleep). Done right, this gets you into a detached state even though you are aware of what is going on around you - this is a relaxed rather trance-like state. However, there are two much deeper states where the mind is able to become calmer still. Many of the world’s religions have meditation as a part pf their religious rituals but it with Buddhism that the practice is most closely associated and linked. Among Buddhists, it is used as a means to get to the highest mental state - the state of enlightenment. This can be practiced in any posture: squatting, standing, walking or lying down, while the sitting or squatting position or ‘zazen’ is the most widely recommended posture.

There are so many benefits that accrue when you meditate and the physical as well as psychological ones have been documented by Herbert Benson, a Harvard professor in a study. Sessions as short as 20 minutes when done regularly can do a world of good to you including reduced blood pressure, reduced tension in the muscles and healthy metabolic activity. On attaining a deep state, mental pictures, swirls of color or a voice speaking internally may arise. There have been studies to show that meditation can relieve a whole lot of problems that arise from stress and tension as well as other health and pain problems.

With better awareness comes a better state of health and you will find that your functioning - whether physical, mental, emotional or psychological - is so much more enhanced and healthy. Though traditional use of meditation was to be seen in spiritual well being, recent popularity is due to its ability to relieve stress and achieve relaxed tranquil state of mind in the midst of the rat-race. When you combine yoga and meditation, you will find it a perfect recipe to help you to a life without stress and tension.

Contrary to popular belief, procrastination does serve a purpose in your life. And that is why this is a lesson in procrastination which you will not want to miss. You may have been fighting procrastination for as long as you can remember. However instead of offering you a miraculous cure for procrastination, let’s take a step back from your present to better understand the presence of procrastination in your life.

Like most people, you are often overstretched in areas of your life. Currently you are playing several different roles at any one time, e.g. roles of a productive employee, a filial child, an understanding partner, a caring parent, a helpful friend and many other more which you seek to do well and excel in. However, there are just too many roles for you to fit into at any one time.

And in addition to that, you are obliged to adhering to the duties of every roles, their respective “shoulds” and “musts”. The truth is regardless how well you plan your time, you only have a limited time and energy every day. There is only this much of things you can seek to accomplish daily. However, most “procrastinators” fail to realize that.

Instead, day after day, they try to accomplish all their tasks in one day. And when they fail, they beat themselves up and feel that they procrastinate in completing them.

Any time management experts will tell you that attempting to do everything within a short period of time is suicidal.

Unknown to many, we are all procrastinators in this modern world. Everything you do carry with it an opportunity cost. When you decide to invest your time and energy in playing a particular role well, you will be neglecting your other important life roles at the same time. And when you fail to meet those “shoulds” and “musts” which come along with those roles, you feel that you have not done enough.

Thus, rather than constantly beating up yourself for not doing enough and hoping for a heaven-sent cure for procrastination, why not look into yourself and determine what you truly value in your life.

By determining the priorities of the different roles in your life, you will better understand what you truly treasure. And it does make sense to allocate more time and energy in fulfilling those more important roles to your very best while giving less attention to other less crucial roles, isn’t it?

That will eliminate the need for you to want to do everything within a short period of time and along with it the misconception of procrastination.

This is a lesson in procrastination which took many people a long time to understand.

As a Christian, I have the right to live a abundant life. The life that Jesus Christ died to give me, is all mine. It’s not because of our might, nor because of our goodness, but because of the precious blood, Jesus Christ shed for us in the Cross at Calvary. Because of his innocent blood, millions of sinners are saved from Hell. How precious that is, you ask?

If you don’t realize what Hell is, or what would have happened to you if Jesus didn’t save you, you won’t realize the value of Christianity. There are still millions in the world living without the knowledge that, there exists a dark world beneath the earth named Hell. Where millions of souls are tormented forever, in eternal fire. But this may sound like a fairy tale to you unless you study the Bible deeper and seek for the truth.

Not only is Hell real. But whatever Bible depicts about the dark side and satan, evil and demons are all real. You will know the truth only if you read bible and understand what God saved us from. And the need for that is to save yourself from suffering the torments in Hell. God doesn’t want even one soul to go there, God loves us so much, that he gave his only son’s life for saving us.

Realize what you are saved from. To make you believe that there is a world called Hell. Go read the bible, search bible passages online in sites like bible gateway. Search for the word “Hell” and you will come up with all sorts of details about Hell, you will read exactly where Hell is situated, and you will know what it feels like to be in Hell. You will understand the value of Jesus Christ who saved us from destruction.

If that info on Hell is just not enough for you to believe, then go search sites like YouTube, where you’ll find a real audio recording done by some archeologists, while digging deeper in to the earths core. You’ll be shocked to hear the torments of millions of souls in Hell, also for you to believe that it’s no cooked up story, you can find photographs of newspapers articles that published the incident back in 1940’s if I am right.

I am not saying this all to scare you away from reality. I am telling you these to understand the value of Christianity and the value of what Jesus died to give us. The only person who can save us from destruction and Hell is Jesus Christ. His name is the name above all names, the word above all words. It’s the name of the Almighty who is the Alpha and The Omega, who can answer all your prayers instantly, who can change people’s minds for your good, who can heal your sickness, who can turn any difficult situation and make it to your advantage. Believe in Jesus Christ and Be Saved Forever. The gift is an eternal life, with God in his garden of Love… Heaven…

God will give his angels charge over his sons and daughters who fear him and love him the way he loves you. He is the God who said – If you abide in me and my words abide in you, I’ll do for you whatever you ask me to do. What more can a meager human being like you and me ask for that having God by our side?

Do you know that when you say blessing prayers, you have immense power in your vocal chords? That your words can make a very positive difference in bringing good in the world?

What do blessing prayers really do? Do they work? Who knows for sure? There are thousands of questions to ask when we begin talking about spiritual matters, especially the power of prayer. After all, spiritual power that comes from God’s blessing can’t be seen. It’s like feeling the wind - on your skin, hearing the leaves rustle in the breeze or watch branches sway in a storm. But the wind itself, the power driving the changes, is not seen directly.

Blessing prayers are like that. A prayer poem offers a unique way to remember to bless others and, in doing so, to bless yourself. This site is dedicated to reviewing and offering blessing prayers so that your blessing words will reflect the love and kindness that God has for all of humanity.

Blessing poems are a form of a prayer poem that use verse, meter and even rhyme to let others know they are loved and respected. Many Christian songs are poems set to music. A blessing poem can be recited, sung or said silently.

Food blessings are blessing prayers. Perhaps the most powerful food blessings that are offered is the blessing of bread and wine that Jesus made at the Last Supper, to make that food become his body and blood. Nearly 2,000 years later, those words to bless food are repeated during the Eucharistic prayer of Catholic and Christian liturgies throughout the world.

At your home, you can offer a simple meal prayer, as easily as saying, “Dear God, bless this food. May it nourish us in body and mind. Amen.” The traditional Catholic grace prayer is: “Bless us O Lord and these your gifts which we are about to receive, from your bounty through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

Make food blessings a conscious habit every time you eat. Be thankful for that food, there are so many who are hungry. Take it a step further and become a blessing by donating food to those who have none.

Blessing children is a very powerful blessing prayer. Think for a minute about the power of touch, especially with babies. Researchers tell us that without human touch, babies will withdraw, get sick and even die. So when we bless children, touching them with our hands (in appropriate places, of course) when we bless the child, conveys a sign of love, comfort and security.

To bless children is to bless the world and its future. A very simple blessing prayer is to place your hand on the top of a child’s head and say, “Jesus, bless this child. Keep Susie (use the child’s name) safe. Fill her with your love, peace and goodness. Thank you for loving Susie.”

What about dwellings? Daily blessing a house is like a breath of fresh air for our living spaces. How to bless a house is very easy. Just say, “God bless this house. Amen.” Devote a minute every day to say a house blessing for yourself, your family and your loved ones. Then, live that blessing. Saying blessing prayers will make a positive difference in the quality of your life. Continue reading »

A chronic illness is basically any disease that has a long term effect on the body. The name Chronic comes from the Latin word ‘Chronos,’ meaning time. Some chronic illnesses, or the tendency to contract them are hereditary, and some are environmental. People can be born with a chronic disease or fall ill later in life with a long term illness.

    Overview for Pharmacy Aides
Pharmacy aides perform administrative duties in pharmacies. Aides often are clerks or cashiers whose chief responsibilities are to answer telephones, handle money, stock shelves, and perform other clerical duties. They work closely with pharmacy technicians. Pharmacy technicians usually perform more complex tasks than do aides, although in some States the duties and titles of the jobs overlap.

Pharmacy aides may create and maintain patient profiles, prepare insurance claim forms, and stock and take inventory of prescription and over-the-counter medications. Accurate record keeping is necessary to help avert dangerous drug interactions. It is essential that pharmacy aides be able to communicate efficiently and correctly with third-party insurance providers to obtain payment. Pharmacy aides maintain inventory and inform the supervisor of stock needs so that the pharmacy does not run out of necessary and vital medications. Some aides also help with the maintenance of equipment and supplies.
    Employment Situation

Employment of pharmacy aides is expected to decrease rapidly, dropping by 11 percent over the 2006 to 2016 period. Demand for pharmacy aides will fall as more responsibility is given to pharmacy technicians for answering phones, stocking shelves, operating cash registers, and performing other administrative tasks. In addition, with increased training, many pharmacy aides will become pharmacy technicians, which will result in further declines in pharmacy aide jobs.

In spire of decreasing employment, job opportunities for full-time and part-time work are expected to be good. The frequent need to replace workers who leave the occupation will create opportunities for interested applicants. Aides with related work experience in pharmacies, or as cashiers or stock clerks in other retail settings, will have the best opportunities.

    Education Outlook
Most pharmacy aides are trained on the job. Employers favor those with at least a high school diploma and previous experience and strong customer service skills. Many pharmacy aides go on to become pharmacy technicians. Prospective pharmacy aides with experience working as cashiers may have an advantage when applying for jobs. Employers also prefer applicants with experience managing inventories and using computers.

Training for pharmacy aides begins by observing a more experienced worker. As they become familiar with the store’s equipment, policies, and procedures, aides start to work on their own.

    Salary Expectations for Pharmacy Aides
Median hourly earnings of pharmacy aides totaled $9.35 in May 2006. Hourly pay ranged between $7.89 and over $14.64. Median hourly earnings in general medical and surgical hospitals totaled $11.53, while grocery stores paid a median of $9.87 per hour, and pharmacies and drug stores paid $8.97 as the median hourly wage.

Meditation is a proven technique to encourage and promote relaxation. The more relaxed you are as you get ready for bed the better your chances of falling into a deep, restful sleep cycle.

It is essential that you learn to put your stress, tensions, and worries to the side before you fall asleep. Meditation can help you achieve this relaxed state and focus on peace and harmony.

There are many different types of meditations available for you to use, each with many adaptations and versions. To get you started, here is a technique that is simple to do and very effective at promoting relaxation:
Find a focus point for your meditation. This may be a mantra, a candle, a stone, or something as simple as the sound of your own breathing. A mantra is a phrase, usually a Hindu phrase, which you repeat over and over in your mind to establish harmony and to focus on your meditation. No matter what you are using for your focus point the goal is to continuously and firmly bring your mind back to what you are focusing on. All other thoughts and distractions that drift through your mind must be pushed out. If you are starting to include meditation in your bedtime routine you should remember that this type of meditation requires a great deal of discipline. Your mind will easily be distracted and you will lose focus. As you continue to practice your meditation each night you will find that the process becomes easier and easier. You may find that meditating 10 to 15 minutes before bed will help to fall asleep naturally.

Here is another simple technique for meditation:
    • Find a quiet room.
    • Sit in a comfortable position on the floor (use a cushion if necessary).
    • Sit with your hands resting lightly in your lap.
    • Close your eyes and relax.
    • Take deep breaths in and out through your nose.
    • Try to focus on your breathing. Count each breath as you exhale. Count to ten. Repeat several times until relaxation sets in.
    • Clear your mind of everything and think only of counting each breath as you exhale.
    • Acknowledge any other thoughts that enter your mind, and then gently let them go and concentrate once again on your breathing.
At the end of the meditation gently stretch and become aware of your body before standing up.

Another form of meditation is guided imagery. Guided imagery is a mix of meditation, relaxation, and hypnosis. Using this method you will follow a guided meditation to visualize a state of relaxation.
It is best practiced in a quiet room where you won’t be disturbed. You will need a tape or CD player. The lighting in the room should be dim and soft. Generally the visualization will start with some simple relaxation exercises that include deep breathing. When your body and mind are relaxed your imagination will come into play. Some common imagery include being in the mountains, walking along a beach, or walking through the forest. The guided imagery uses your imagination to induce peacefulness and relaxation. You will be guided through the meditation from start to finish, at which time you should feel calm and serene.
There are many imagery tapes on the market for you to pick from.
The above techniques for meditation will help your mind and body to relax. Your goal is to be as rested as possible as you prepare for sleep. There are many other methods of meditation available. You may have to research and experiment and find what works best for you.

These techniques are also great if you are having to cope with stress in your life such as preparing to act as MC at a friend’s wedding reception. The thought of speaking in public makes most people anxious.
